About Lumi

The Lumi.Media story started in 2014 when an experienced screen content executive producer - Karen Dewey - was working with a large team on location making a TV series. Karen found herself frustrated by how hard it was for the team to distribute information, collaborate efficiently and hold the creative vision.

The team struggled to disseminate key decisions, directions and documents, with versions changing and messages losing clarity as they passed up and down the line. She saw time, money and resources being wasted as people were forced to work in silos, duplicating systems in each department. There had to be a better way!

Karen began to explore the options and had an idea. She teamed up with her brother Neil, a leading software architect with 30 years’ experience in secure systems and data management, and Lumi.Media was born.

Pioneer customers used words like "magic" to describe the Lumi effect on their productions. It quickly became clear there was potential to Lumify any high performance organisation with teams producing ongoing creative projects. This includes teams involved in screen production, broadcasting, talent management, sports, events and festivals.

"Communication industries are full of talented, resourceful and dedicated people and I'm excited about how Lumi can help them take their products to another level."

What we believe

Lumi.Media believes in a world where high performance creative teams can harness clever technology to reach new heights of creativity and productivity, wherever and whenever they work.

Everything we do is founded on three core values:

  • We empower teams to be their best, together.

  • We build understanding through transparency, clear communication and context

  • We make clever technology that enhances creativity and productivity.

We empower teams to be their best, together: We believe that every member of the team has value and we strive to help everyone to be the best they can be, whenever they join the team, and from whichever location they work - home, office, on location, in a studio, or even at the beach.

We build understanding through transparency, clear communication and context: We are creative insiders who know the power of clarity in helping teams do more, think more and create more as they collaborate better and faster, together.

We make clever technology that enhances creativity and productivity: We know that clever technology can enhance editorial and production outcomes, but it needs to be flexible and seamless. It's in our DNA to support creative, field and production teams however they want to work and whatever they are making.
