Like you, the team at Lumi.Media are grappling with what it means to be a citizen and a business in a world dealing with the COVID-19 crisis.
We are all making changes to the way we work and live, to protect ourselves and our loved ones. As a team, we recognise that we are also part of the wider community, and as such we have a responsibility to look out for and support those around us - to ensure that everyone makes it through these challenging times.
Health and Safety
The majority of the Lumi team works remotely already; as a company we have been inadvertently practicing the social distancing measures now being recommended.
Our software developers, the only office-based Lumi team, have moved all equipment so that they too can work from home for the foreseeable future.
We have always used video conferencing software for internal meetings but will now extend that to include meetings with external groups.
As a customer, you already know that Lumi is a virtual workspace that gives you the ability to work anywhere, 24/7.
What you may not know is that we invested a lot of time and money earlier this year creating a stronger, more secure platform. We understand that in times like this, some of you may want some extra reassurance. If you would like to know more, we're happy to answer all of your questions. All you have to do is reach out.
Our amazing development team, secure in their homes, continue to build new features and functionality for you to take advantage of. As we roll each piece out we'll let you know - via email, social media or a pop-up bar at the bottom of your Lumi screen.
Friends of Lumi
At some point in the past, for some reason, we've spoken to you about Lumi because we think you and your team would benefit from using the platform.
At the moment, you are probably just trying to make sense of the current situation and deal with it day-to-day.
Sudden change can be tough and moving to remote working, as you may have just done, is a challenge both physically and mentally. If you are looking for practical assistance to stay productive and connected with your team during this period, please get in touch.
As a community, we need to keep business moving, keep economies going, keep jobs wherever we can. Current indications are that this situation could last six months or longer.
We all want to come back bigger and stronger, ready for the boom in production that we all know will come. Bring it on! The silver lining is we may all find a way to reinvent the way we work - to provide more consistency, flexibility, and most importantly, productivity.
We are all in this together. If there is anything I, or the team can do to support you, please reach out.
