TV Releases + Lumi Media: Consent That Works Harder

Written by Lumi News | Sep 1, 2025 7:30:00 PM

Two industry leaders are coming together: TV Releases, built to simplify digital consent, and Lumi Media, trusted by broadcasters worldwide, have joined forces to launch a powerful new integration that takes production workflows to the next level.

Together, TV Releases and Lumi Media are making it easier than ever for production teams to manage consent, streamline workflows, and keep creativity flowing. Now, every completed digital TV Release will automatically generate a card in Lumi - attaching the completed consent and populating photos and details of the form. This keeps all the information producers need exactly where they’re already working.

“Release forms are a vital part of every production, but they’ve traditionally been clunky, paper-heavy, and easy to lose track of,” said Amelia Barry, Founder of TV Releases. “By integrating directly into Lumi Media’s intuitive platform, we’re helping producers capture, track, and store digital consents seamlessly, without slowing down the creative process.”

More Than the Sum of Its Parts

On their own, TV Releases and Lumi each solve a core problem. TV Releases makes consent fast, simple, and secure. Lumi gives production teams one central hub where every element of a show - from schedules to storylines to call sheets - flows together.

One card, one source of truth

By integrating them, productions get something far more powerful:

  • Consent becomes connected: Every signed form is no longer just a file. It’s live data that flows through the production alongside story cards, schedules, and logs.

  • Teams stay in sync: Producers on the floor, gallery teams, editors, and legal all see the same information in real time, reducing duplication and missed steps.

  • Compliance with confidence: Every release is instantly attached to the right contributor, episode, or location, making audits and broadcaster requirements effortless.

Consent that flows with the story

For long-running factual series like 24 Hours in A&E, the impact is immediate. In a single six-month shoot, producers track more than 1,100 patient stories and 2,000 staff members. With this integration, a doctor’s signed consent in TV Releases doesn’t just get stored away - it instantly becomes live data linked to the patient, the story, the location and other data. A visible and trackable part of the whole production process; editorial can see clearance status while cutting the story, legal can audit at any time, and post can deliver episodes knowing every participant is approved.

“At Lumi, we’re committed to giving teams tools that are as dynamic as the stories they tell,” said Neil Dewey, COO of Lumi Media. “This partnership with TV Releases extends that vision by bringing efficiency, clarity, and confidence to one of the most critical parts of production.”

A Smarter Way to Work

This collaboration marks a significant step toward a more streamlined, digital-first future for factual and entertainment productions - where creative teams can focus on storytelling, not paperwork. With consent flowing directly into Lumi, every department can trust they’re working from the same live source of truth.

Series Editor Louise Bartmann captured the benefit of centralization that Lumi brings:

“After 11 years of A and E there were lots of systems and processes in place. So when we introduced Lumi, it gave us a chance to review what was really necessary. One week in and we realized there were lots of things we no longer needed - Lumi was doing it all. With everything in one place it was so much easier to find everything - all linked to one patient card.”
